From there, the route leads past the Gasthof Wachter, over a small bridge and into the idyllic Saubachgraben. After around one kilometre, you reach the Wimbachbauer farm that gives the route its name, before the path leads back down into the valley towards Leogang parish church, whose magnificent Baroque interior invites you to pause and marvel. From there, you continue at a leisurely pace back to the starting point.

They take you up to 1,760 metres, where the winter hiking trail begins above the Alte Schmiede restaurant. From here, it runs parallel to the slope, past the Kleiner Asitz, all the way to the nature cinema on the Sonnkogel. A place that invites you to pause. To take a deep breath. To marvel. High up at 1,900 metres, you are rewarded with a view of the snow-covered peaks of Leogang's mountains. The return route of this special winter hiking trail then leads leisurely back to the mountain station.

And as if this nature cinema weren't enough, another highlight awaits along the way: the TONspur islands. These covered wooden loungers invite you to linger in a very special way – to listen, feel and sense. From there, the path leads towards the Hinterburghof, then left onto the forest road up to the Berggasthof Huggenberg. From here, it continues along the toboggan run (can you tell where we're going with this?) to the Berggasthof Biberg.

Once there, you can enjoy not only a breathtaking view, but also delicious regional delicacies at the mountain inn. And for dessert, the 6 km natural toboggan run is already waiting, allowing tired hikers to simply race downhill to the valley station.

By the way: if you don't want to climb the Biberg on foot but still want to go tobogganing, you can comfortably take the shuttle up to the Berggasthof Huggenberg. A tour around the Pirzbichl is a must when winter hiking in Leogang. This scenic circular hike with moderate gradients promises wonderful panoramic views of the Steinberge, idyllic winter landscapes and dreamy glimpses of snowy Leogang.

This winter hiking trail also starts at the Steinberg Stadium. From here, you first head to the Ritter bakery (perfect for stocking up on a little snack for the way). Then you cross the main road, hike past the Leogang Ortsmitte bus stop and on towards the Anderlhof. The path leads through snow-covered fields, past the valley station of the Steinbergbahn, before returning to the starting point via the idyllic footpath along the glittering Leoganger Ache.
